Dimitris Netsikas

Dimitris Netsikas, also known as “Netsdzn,” is a creative product designer based in Thessaloniki, Greece.

From an early age, he developed a strong connection with outdoor activities, such as shooting, as well as hobbies related to equipment and the discipline of the outdoors. These influences shaped his design identity, leading to an approach grounded in purpose, where every object balances functionality and intent. His graduation from the Greek annex of Middlesex University London marked the starting point for the creation of Apax Arms—a brand that directly combines design with the commercial aspect. Through Apax Arms, he expresses a complete creative vision, where aesthetics, functionality, and identity coexist.

His work explores contemporary design technologies and sustainable approaches, with a focus on clarity, performance, and longevity. Each project is approached with the intention of creating objects that are both purposeful and refined.

His goal is to develop pieces with a strong presence—objects that invite interaction, communicate their function clearly, and establish a lasting connection with the people who choose them.

Inspiration begins with observation.

Inspiration is not a passive act, but a way of understanding the world—how things move, interact, and exist within their environment. It can emerge from anything: the structure of a mechanical system, the rhythm of sound, the tension in a piece of music, or even the unpredictable flow of water as it spills and reshapes itself.

These moments are not random. They reveal patterns—of balance, force, and behavior—that translate into design decisions.

Observation, in this sense, becomes a discipline. It sharpens awareness, filters out noise, and allows clarity to emerge. What is carried into the design process is not the image itself, but the principle behind it.

Through this approach, each object is informed by a deeper understanding of form and function—rooted not only in intention, but in the reality of how things exist and perform.

HIS ANSWER WHEN WE ASKED HIM

What does design mean for you?

Design, for me, is a continuous process of observation, experimentation, and evolution.

It begins with understanding how people interact with objects—how they hold them, use them, and connect with them. I see design as a way to create objects that feel intuitive and purposeful, while encouraging interaction and engagement.

At the same time, it is about exploring new possibilities through technology and pushing the boundaries of form and function. Every project is an opportunity to refine my thinking, develop new ideas, and create something that is both meaningful and responsible.

Ultimately, design is not just about creating objects—it’s about shaping experiences and building a connection between people and the things they use.
